Gault&Millau 2019: 2nd toque for the Bistro-Restaurant
Simon Taxacher and Martin Kinast come up trumps again!
Toques and jubilation at the 5-star Hotel Rosengarten in Kirchberg, Tyrol. The Gault&Millau 2019 guide is hot off the press and brings top ratings for Simon Taxacher’s two restaurants. But first things first…
Restaurant Simon Taxacher: Gault&Millau 4 toques/19 points
For the sixth consecutive year, the Restaurant Simon Taxacher is awarded 4 toques and 19 points. This means that Restaurant Simon Taxacher continues to lead Austria’s top culinary league.
Bistro-Restaurant Rosengarten: Gault&Millau 2 toques/15 points
For the first time, the Bistro-Restaurant Rosengarten has been rated with 2 toques/15 points in the Gault&Millau 2019. Young and talented, chef Martin Kinast has surpassed last year’s best newcomer award with a score that reflects his talent, creative ability, determination and love of his chosen profession. Under the patronage of Simon Taxacher it has taken Martin Kinast no time at all to cook up a second toque for the Bistro-Restaurant Rosengarten where he consistently dedicates himself to chic yet down-to-earth cuisine. He takes authentic, Austrian dishes and subjects them to a contemporary reinterpretation by combining popular classics and Tyrolean specialities with a touch of unobtrusive extravagance. Whether it’s a fine, casual or business lunch, or a special dinner with the family – always expect authentic cuisine!
Simon Taxacher, chef Martin Kinast and the entire Rosengarten team are awed by the results in what is probably Austria’s chief gourmet guide. ‘6 toques under one roof! This is truly sensational – and of course, it encourages us to continue along our ambitious path. We cook with huge passion, seasoned with a down-to-earth approach, team spirit and a pinch of pure pluck. The Gault&Millau 2019 rating makes us feel even more motivated than ever. Many thanks and congratulations to Martin Kinast and the team’, says Simon Taxacher with a huge, happy grin. Martin Kinast concurs: ‘The start of the season is upon us and we can’t wait to delight our guests from near and far with new creations. We owe a debt of gratitude to our guests, to the whole team and – of course – to our boss and mentor Simon Taxacher!’
