This year, the Hahnenkamm race on the legendary Streif in Kitzbühel takes place on 20 to 26 January – and it’s the 80th edition! As ever, Kitzbühel is expecting the arrival of tens of thousands of spectators from all over the world to cheer on the world’s best skiers at the famous World Cup races. Wednesday, 22 January starts with the juniors, and the Super-G skiers get their turn on Friday. The Hahnenkamm Downhill on Saturday is considered one of the world’s hardest descents, with gradients of up to 85 percent, speeds of up to 140km per hour and jumps of up to 80m. The slalom race on the Ganslern is on Sunday.
For Kitzbühel, the annual highlight of the World Cup means more than superb sporting achievements: the race is also a social high point.
